How can we feel centered and calm in a world that’s constantly changing? Sometimes feeling displaced, out of sync or out of step with the world. Or perhaps within yourself.

As we all experience the changing world, we struggle with once again trying to fit in it. But maybe we’re looking at it incorrectly.

We previously discussed how the lockdown provided the opportunity for us to look within and get a feel for who we really are individually. Yet, as the government deigned to allow us back – with restrictions – into the wide world, some slipped back into who they perceived themselves to be before the lockdown. Some have tried to be who they thought they were pre-lockdown, but not quite fitting into that mold anymore. There are also some who completely ditched who they thought they were, and emerged from the lockdown cocoon re-imagined, and excited to have met the “real” self.

Perhaps we’re not supposed to fit in. Perhaps our role now is to fit completely within ourselves. To be true to ourselves. To speak our truth that begs from deep within to be heard or expressed. And when one has discovered the joy of being true to self…to fit completely and wholly within one’s self, then will no longer try to find an outside niche to belong. We no long feel the need to seek validation from others.

It doesn’t mean one can’t enjoy the company of others or join a group of like minded people…it just means one no longer craves to belong outside of self – for one can be complete within.

It also means we can find peace within; have confidence to stand up against what is wrong or unbalanced in our reality; and not be over-whelmed in a world that’s constantly changing.
