The crowd parted, allowing her to leave first.

There was nothing about her that visually stood out. Blue jeans, a decent shirt, sweater, and black tennis shoes. She was just an average looking person, unimposing, whose hair had a touch of frizziness from the humidity.

She hadn’t uttered a word the whole time she was there. The only sound was a slight squeak of her shoes as she strode, with an uneven gait, to the door.

When those in the room were asked why they moved aside to let her go first, all they could say was that it “seemed the right thing to do”. They weren’t even questioning themselves as to why it felt like it was what they should do.

The only thing that did get some people’s attention, as she headed for the door, were her eyes. For those she glanced at as she passed by, her blue eyes – they reported – seemed to peer, without judgment, into the depths of their souls.

As she exited, she melted into the city, leaving some to ponder, “What did she see within me?”

* * *
I’m pretty sure we’ve all encountered someone in our lifetime that may have affected us this way. Okay, not necessarily this way. Perhaps someone that you instantly liked, or respected, and they hadn’t said a word or carried themselves any differently than you or I.

I believe we/they reacted to the energy of that person. In this story, it may have been a reaction based in respect to the lady’s energy.

Not all reactions are positive. Some may have also had an experience with the opposite type of energy; not honoring the person, rather a response to move away from, or avoid, someone who is radiating negative energy.

We do react to body language, but we also react to what another person’s energy is emitting, whether we are consciously aware of it or not.

I was recently in a situation of being in a room full of strangers. Of course I took this opportunity to observe not only my own reactions to the individuals, but also watched others reactions, body language, and energy responses going on around me.

My Questions

My questions to you are:
1. What are you sensing, feeling, perceiving, or reacting to when you are around other people, including strangers?
2. What are you exuding that others may sense, feel or react to?

I ask you to work to become more observant to others reactions to your energy and you to others energies, even if you aren’t in a room full of strangers.
