A paranormal investigation, also known as a ghost investigation or ghost “hunting”, is the process of investigating a location to capture evidence or debunk the claims of a haunting.

There are quite a few groups who are investigating to prove, or disprove, through EVP’s (electronic voice phenomenon), audio recordings, videos, still photography and thermal imaging. They may also utilize gadgets such as spirit boxes, spirit boards, flashlight communication, and other electronic devices.

People call investigators because they usually want help. Capturing evidence of activity is all well and good. Well, except that investigations can stir things up and amp up activity. And if your team uses antagonizing as a way to catch evidence, this can create major angry chaos.

Respect

Most “ghosts” are deceased humans, who still have human emotions. Many are often tied to the property being investigated, such as previous land or home owners.

Let’s take a look at your own home, and let’s say you’re sitting on your couch, watching TV and a crew of strangers barges in the front door. They’re carrying lots of stuff and you’ve no clue what that stuff is. They are spreading out all around your house, setting stuff up and completely ignoring you. Of course, at this point, you’re probably yelling at them to, “Get the he** of my house!”

These strangers then start trash talking you; calling you names, casting aspersions and provoking you any way that they can.

Would you be ticked? I know I would.

I agree with the whole, “They’re dead. The home/property now belongs to so-and-so.” But that doesn’t mean an investigation can’t be respectful. Don’t treat them any way that you wouldn’t want to be treated.

So the investigation is completed. You’ve captured your evidence and shared with the home owner. Now what?

If the owners sought you to get help — to bring peace and harmony to their place — have you done that?

Take Responsibility

Do you have a sensitive on your team? A Reiki Master, medium and/or clairvoyant? Does that team member have the knowledge and experience to handle crossing over those who are ready? Or to open a line of communication to work on cohabiting peacefully?

Do they know how to clear, cleanse, and seal the property? Do they know how sense or find and close portals? Do they know how to deal with non-human entities, or who to turn to for help with that?

What? You don’t believe in all that hooey? You’re cynical and only believe in what scientific evidence such as that which you can see, hear, touch or smell? You know, the way you already gathered your evidence? You don’t believe in another layer of existence?

Then let me ask you this…where do you think the evidence you captured had come from? Oh, and why do you continue investigating?

Paranormal Investigators – Finish the Job

For those who already do this, I applaud and commend you. And thank you.

For those who don’t…take responsibility. Follow through with the owners who’ve put their trust in you and your team. Finish the job, or get someone who can!
