We are constantly being presented with an opportunity to either move beyond separatism or to pick a side, such as:
- Us vs Them
- Light vs Dark
- White vs Black
- Democratic vs Republican
So I’d like to go on record and say this in a short and clear manner —-
There are no sides. That is nothing but a Third Dimension illusion.
My Thoughts or Perception
I believe we are each an expression of the Source (Creator, God, Great Spirit, etc.) and are having a unique, individualistic experience.
This means, to me, that we are all One. But it also means that we each have our own opinions, thoughts and beliefs – and that’s fine!
I haven’t walked in your shoes, nor have you walked in mine, so your experiences, beliefs and pizza preferences may look nothing like mine.
Doreen Virtue
I’ve been asked about my thoughts on Doreen Virtue’s statement denouncing New Age everything.
It saddens me that she felt the need to use her prominent presence to condemn anything that doesn’t fit on her new path; however, it is her right.
I don’t have to agree with her old, or even her newer beliefs, or even like them. I’m not living her life so it’s not mine to judge.
I am Jan having a Jan experience.
You’re having your experience.
And Doreen Virtue is having a Doreen experience.
Not New
Over the last 25 years (that I’m aware of) there has been a few prominent names in the alternative and/or new age that stepped away from that to pursue their chosen religious belief system and had decried their former belief system. Why this storms the internet, I’m not sure.
There has also been numerous religious people who stepped away to explore alternative or new age belief systems and/or to build their own, but I’ve not seen that spread through the internet like wildfire.
New Agers didn’t go after Doreen when she was popularly known as the Angel lady. Either one resonated with what she shared or one didn’t. Why attack her now that she’s changed her course? Are you afraid that because such a prominent former new age figure has denounced new age, that your belief systems are in jeopardy?
You have a right to your beliefs and you have the right to change your beliefs. So does she.
You and I don’t know what Doreen’s soul growth plan entailed, and I certainly don’t know her life experiences. But none of that matters. Again, it’s not my life – nor is it mine to judge.
Final Words
Just because not everyone thinks or believes alike doesn’t make your beliefs less important, nor theirs.
You don’t have to pick a side. Remember, there aren’t any sides. “Sides” are only encouraging a feeling of separatism. Allowing is accepting that everyone has opinions and beliefs, and that’s great. It doesn’t diminish yours. You’re allowed, too.
Everything is not black and white. It’s not clear cut and it’s certainly not one size fits all.
I recommend you question, and research pretty much everything (don’t drive yourself nuts over this), but don’t do it in fear. Do it with a sense of responsibility. You are responsible for your decisions, thoughts and actions. In questioning and delving within you can decide for yourself.
We aren’t limited. There are many paths to soul growth and self-discovery.
